Local Cuisine

The local cuisine is represented by typically "poor" dishes - born from the local peasant culture - but nevertheless extremely refined. Among the most famous specialities, it is important to mention: the extra-virgin DOP oil of Lucca, the excellent range of white and red wines of Montecarlo and the hills of Lucca DOC and IGT, the spelt IGP and the DOP chestnut flour of Garfagnana, the salami of Gombitelli and the bread of Altopascio.
